  Retail Club

To manage, we need to know about the industry and learn from the past experiences of the various organizations. After we enter the industry, we should be dexterous enough to adapt instantaneously. This is the objective of the Retail club and we function accordingly. A registered body comprising of students of Retail Management constitutes the Retail Club. Personality development activities, Group Discussions, Case studies and Management Games are conducted under the guidance of Retail Club. Apart from these industrial visits and Interactive Sessions feature regularly in the Club’s Agenda. Retail Club is a platform for exploring the potential skills within the enthusiastic lot. Having been exposed to various management games, it brings out the knowledge and productivity dormant within the students and introduces new vitality into their culture. It helps them build confidence and positive thinking which is then translated into attitude, ambition and action. This club has organized visits to Agro-tech 2008 at CII (Chandigarh), malls around Chandigarh, case studies of several companies like wrangler, Revlon etc.



INFRASTRUCTURE CLUB

Infrastructure club emphasizes on the infrastructure sector progress and learning. Club organizes case studies related to infrastructure sector. The club ascertaining includes understanding the financing of infrastructure projects or any other agreements and the latest news in this sector. This club is the first of the many steps towards making a “gung ho” individual into arrant Infrastructure manager. The club organizes visits to conferences and meeting in infrastructure sector. Infrastructure students will attend the CHEMCOM-2008, 61st Annual Session of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers.



IT CLUB

Technology forms the backbone of the corporate world. This club aims to make students familiar with new trends in Telecom & IT through seminars, guest lectures and case studies. The future managers get a chance to interact with the successful managers and learn directly from their experiences. Industrial Tours make them familiar with the corporate culture and professional working environment.


Hospital Management Club

The process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health. To reach a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing, an individual or group must be able to identify and to realise aspirations, to satisfy needs, and to change or cope with the environment. Health is, therefore, seen as a resource for everyday life, not the objective of living. Therefore, health promotion is not just the responsibility of the health sector, but goes beyond healthy lifestyles to wellbeing.This club realizes this social responsibility of organizing health awareness lectures, health promotion seminars and training in various arenas. In continuation of all these health promotion activities, workshops are also organised intermittently. Along with this, club works in a new direction of redefining Hospital. Members of club realise thatthe Hospital's main ethos is to encompass creativity through an environment that actively encourages its members to network and collaborate. Events like film screening, a book reading to patients and music club as well as a writers' salon are organized by them. The club believes that if u give a single smile of disheartened person it gives miles of smiles to you. The Hospital club of UIAMS is a rejuvenating club, and will grow in stature in time, as will its members .

 

BANKING & INSURANCE CLUB

Don't bring your need to the marketplace, bring your skill. If you don't feel well, tell your doctor, but not the marketplace. If you need money, go to the bank, but not the marketplace-Jim Rohn. The importance of banking is not latent in today’s financial market dominated world which needs smart work and intelligence rather than hard work. The club aims and emphasizes the overall development of the students by conducting weekly case studies, financial market related presentations and classroom projects related to banking and insurance. It encourages students to be amenable and show team work while learning to be patient in aggressive brainstorming sessions. The representatives of the club are also involved in inviting guest lectures and seminars from acumen of the area on a regular basis. Volunteers of the banking club also attended the international banking conference at WTC, Mumbai conducted by ICFAI Mumbai.

 

PHARMACEUTICAL CLUB

The Pharmaceutical Club consists of members from the Pharmaceutical MBA Section. The purpose of founding such an association was to bring in the best talent from the industry and academia to interact with the students and give them insight into the corporate world which they are about to enter. The club has organised various seminars and guest lectures with different pharmaceutical executives in the past with a view to make students more aware and alert about the pharmaceutical corporate world. Plans to co-ordinate with PCI [Pharmaceutical Council of India] and DPCO [Drug Price Control Order] for various projects and industrial visits are being formulated by the members. Other than this, the club keeps the students updated with the happenings in the industry like the impact of globalization on the pharmaceutical industry. The club tries to decrease the time frame required for paper-work by regulating relatively easier laws and rules. Apart from these, the club tries it’s best to spread public awareness about drug practices and ways to keep a check on spurious drugs. The club plans to continue to work towards achieving a bright future for the students in the pharmaceutical corporate world.


STUDENTS CLUB

Executive Club
The objective of the Executive Club is to develop:

(i) Social and intellectual activity among the students of the College.

(ii) To develop in them ability to express thoughts and public speaking and to impart to them practical industrial experiences. For this purpose it arranges talks, lectures, group discussions, essay competitions, seminars, conferences, and the like, relating to the two disciplines.

(iii) Events like Crosswords, Puzzles, Quizzes, Seminars, Treasure Hunt are some prominent functions of the Executive Club.

The Executive club functions under the guidance of the Faculty Advisor. 

 

Cultural Club

The objective of the Executive Club is to develop:

(i) Social and intellectual activity among the students and to create interest in and encourage talent for Drama and Theatre.

(ii) For this purpose, it organizes full-length and One-act Plays, Mono-acting performances, Competitions, Talks, Lectures, Symposia, Conferences and the like relating to its field.

(iii) The debates from the cultural Club offer opportunities to the students to express their views on given subjects such as Fine Arts, Hindi plays, debates touching upon the objectives of their society.

 

Case Unit Club

The Case Unit Club forms the backbone of knowledge management.

(i) Focuses on cultivating knowledge in the budding managers by deciding over the books and making the best available to the students.

(ii) Collects study material from best sources, shortlists the case study topics.

(iii) Caters to the stationary needs of the students.

 

Sports Club

The healthy body breaths healthy mind.

(i) Arranges sports equipment for all sports activities.

(ii) Organizes various sports competitions.
